If you enjoy the spirit of the season you’ve likely heard of #GivingTuesday; it follows the big shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It’s dedicated to being when we give back to those organizations and individuals that need support during this time of year and all year round. Here at XecuCoach, we contribute 5% of our profits to organizations annually to support the community in which we live and work and are excited to be part of #GivingTuesday. Here are five (5) ways you can take part in #GivingTuesday.
Shop on Amazon Smile
If you’ve still got shopping to do, head over to smile.amazon.com and every time you make a purchase a percentage goes to the non-profit of your choice. Your prime benefits work on here too so you can do all your usual Amazon shopping while giving back to an organization that needs your support. Talk about easy!
Sponsor an Angel Tree child
If you’ve got an extra few dollars this season think about sponsoring a child who needs a gift this Christmas. Many towns have Angel Trees that hold gift tags from kids asking for a gift. If these tags aren’t fulfilled that child will have a Christmas without a gift. Think about being someone’s angel this year.
Donate with a matching gift
Facebook is matching donations solicited through the social network this season. In addition, check to see if your company matches donations. This is a great way to donate to your charity of choice and make your dollars go farther.
Host a #GivingTuesday party
Host a party with friends and ask each one to bring a present either for Toys for Tots or for a local angel tree. By the time you know it you’ll have brought Christmas to dozens of kids simply by having your friends over for a little holiday jingle and mingle.
Donate your time
The holidays can be crunch time for many with parties, family and friends all asking for our time however, think of those in need. Put aside a few hours for those that need us most this time of year and donate your time. Check to see if your company has a program that allows you to donate work hours for volunteering.
